Kenneth Ray Morrisey is a native of Clinton, North Carolina. As a young attendee of Wilson Chapel, he recognized that preaching was in his blood. Like Mozart who could see and hear music before it was written, Pastor Morrisey could see and feel sermons move through him. Not short of spiritual role models, Kenneth comes from a familial line of ministers. As the Holy Spirit showed him his path, poured into his spirit, and tugged on his life, on August 16, 1998 Pastor Morrisey decided not to wait for man to validate his calling. His work began under the supervision of Rev. Eugene Alexander of First Baptist Church of Turkey, NC where he was tasked to assist in nurturing and cultivating young ministers. Morrisey later work alongside of Rev. Isaac Johnson at Wilson Chapel Missionary Baptist Church of Turkey and Pastored Faison Chapel of Warsaw for 10 years, 2008-2018. Pastor Morrisey began his studies under Rev. Alexander and later under Dr. Onyx Martin at Nashville Seminary. Morrisey received his undergraduate degree in theology at the Gap School of Theology and is currently pursuing a doctorate degree. Just as the Holy Spirit showed Kenneth his spiritual walk, the Holy Spirit also showed him and aligned him with a woman of God who was unlike any other. He recognized his now help meet and was wooed by her innocence, genuine and serving spirit. He wrote love letters to First Lady Elgie in junior high school. Kenneth and Elgie’s kindred spirits brought them together and they cultivated an impenetrable friendship that blossomed into the connection and love we see today. Pastor Morrisey and First Lady Morrisey have been married since 1990. Their union of friendship and love produced two children, Stepphon and Mariah and has one granddaughter Anai. Pastor Morrisey desires to build a church where the members are free to walk confidently into the gifts that God has blessed them with. In that moment, miracles will be performed. “Every Word of God is flawless; he is a shield to those who take refuge in him.” Proverbs 30:5. Pastor Morrisey states “The Word of God is dear to me because I realize that it’s not just the Word of God, it’s your obedience to God. God is personable and He honors His Word. Jesus said, "If you continue in my word, then are ye my disciples indeed; And ye shall know the truth and the truth shall make you free". My obedience to him will cause me to walk in faith with him because I honor His word. When I walk with Him, great things have tendency to happen…when we walk in that [God’s refuge], He will become that for us because of his word. The word of God should be what we deal with daily. “
